The Egoistic Essay

This I really have to laugh. A friend of mine had to write an essay on
"Why I should become The Xth Council President" for being part of the 'Lets Tease I*****' group

She sent it to me and I had a shot at making it MY OWN style. It turned out so damn EGOISTIC!! (Well, this is MY VERSION after all. *grins*) DRUMROLL PLEASE......

Why I should Be President of the Xth Student Council.

I strongly believe that I should be the next President of XXXXX Student Council
becasue I am convinced that I have evrything that embodies a distinguished leader who can bring the Council into the coming year and to soar to new heights which have never before been attained. I am someone whom the student body can connect with in many ways and would not hesitate to approach me should they encounter any difficulties, though Im not a very vocal person.

Indeed I believe that being a confident speaker is not a pre-requisite to being a successful leader. I am a firm believer of the ever popular phrase 'Actions Speak Louder than Words' and being a person who isn't really a vocally confident leader, I think that setting an example through this method is equally, if not more effective. It is in human nature to follow people who practise what they preach rather than those who preach but life no finger to 'action'. I am someone who strives to be seen doing the right thing rather than to be telling others to do what is right. And this is why I should be the next president.

Moreover, I am someone who will listen and value everybodys opinion no matter what their views are, be they a staff member, student or canteen operator. I treat people in an objective manner and I also endeavor to be a compassionate yet firn and strict leader, to be an exemplary example to all and resolve to be a character whom everyone aspires to become. It is such a person whom I believe should be elected President.

I am a creative and artistically outspoken student who will not hesitate to bring about any changed and amendments should I see the need to do so for the sake of improvement and pupils fun, joy and laughter around the school. For example, I believe the canteen needs to desperetaly be upgraded. Just the sight of it is enough to turn ones appetite off and if this happened, both students techers as well as canteen operators stand to lose as no food will be bought,students will eventually starve and therefore grades will decline as studying on empty tummies is not cohesive to achieving good grades.

FOOD IS A TEENAGERS LIFE!!! (Well,mine anyway *grins*)

Another change I would like to input is subject selections. I don't really agree with the system of bunching up certain subjects in one class and thereby not allowing any flexibility to the students. This is against common sense because each and every student is not born to fit a certain type of sebject criteria. Therefore, I suggest that subjects be left as a single list and students pick from the list with at least an english and maths subject and the rest are up to their discretion. I am sure the subjects can be co-ordianted such that ,for example, Amaths is on in one class and Accounting is progressing in the next class. Students will only need to switch classrooms. I do not think that this idea is beyond our reach and this would greatly benefit the school in terms of academic success as everyone would be doing subjects they love and excel at,as well as being able to do specific subjects which will eventually lead them to their career path of choice.

Indeed though the education system (me not saying which here. for privacy reasons) has produced many elitist,It has some way to go before it is deemed one where it not moulds the future of the nation, but the students can manipulate it such that THEY are the ones moulding the future of our nation. And I believe that Customisation is the key to this path.

In conclusion, If I were to be elected to presidency, I will whole-heartedly assume my position with gratitude and confidence and do my utmost best to apply all my skills and talents to make Council as well as the school, a great success.
