When I first started out blogging, I thought bloggin was just the online version of a diary and being extremely naive and blurr I thought its where you write what happened today and people can find out what you did daily. So my posts where rather lets say.. ordinary.. blah blah blah I woke up brush my teeth and went to school today and that blardy teacher sent me out for not doing homework..etc....
Only recently I have been following famous Singaporean blogger Wendy Cheng aka XIAXUE 's blog. I have been a loyal reader for the past 3 months or so and similarly with other friends blogs who write about controversial issues and share thair views and opinions about current affairs. Then I always wondered why and how issit they have such good readership...? Their blog don't exactly look fascinating with hunky pictures of stuff.. I mean.. what is it that pulls me to their blog daily to read? I compared their blog and MY blog and realised that what my blog is lacking is SUBSTANCE. opinion quality is not there.. I realised that..
WHO WOULD BE INTERESTED IN READING ABOUT MY 24 HOUR TIMETABLE??
Obviously nobody. It equivelant of me coming to you and saying ...
"today i woke up and brushed my teeth and then I saw a pervert outside my window so I called the police and I felt so pent up at that guy and after that I was bored and therefore i went to read harry potter for a few hours...."
OI WAKE UP!! DONT FALL ASLEEP!!
Get what I mean? Now would you want to keep talking to me?
Thereafter I woke up to the fact that blogs are your windows to air your opinions to the world. Not your daily rant on your routine.Routine is boring.AGREE? I always wonder why people get so enraged over xiaxues blog. A blog is the place to air your feelings and views but if people are not ready to accept that a certain individuals view may not correspond to yours or the general public then don't read that particular blog!
The whole purpose of reading a blog is also to try to understand someone elses point of view and why he or she thinks that way.Unless of course the blogger is putting across an unfair n biased opinion then of course the public will become enraged. But after reading xiaxues disabled toilet entry I got the messege that she was told off by the disabled person that she should not be using the toilet as it disadvantages the disabled. But wendy protested that she was queing up i for quite some time and since the disabled loo was open so she used it instead to save time. she also stated yes it is bigger cleaner and nicer so if i went out to the streets and proclaim I also agreed then am I supposed to expect a whole mob of pro-disabled people to come flocking down on me in anger? Its just her individual opinion and comment. whats wrong with that? at least she says she would gladly give the disabled the priority should they come to use the loo. Its all about mixing common sense and seeing whats appropriate at the correct moments. Common, we are all educated people and we should know when to take the initiative to give up facilities to the disadvantaged to use first and when such facilities are available to use and no disadvantaged being needs it..and we have to wait long Q's for the average toilet, then why not use the diasbled toilet? PEOPLE WAKE UP!!!
Anyway, if so the case that people still do not agree on what xiaxue said in that entry then you obviously have not read properly. And on that subject yes..why do able-bodied people still use the mrt lifts? why dont we all nicely Q up at the escalator instead? Aiyah just leave the lifts lest a disabled person suddenly turn up even though theres none at the moment...hmm?
