Workplace Mathematics

The past week was my exams and as I was studying I suddenly recalled an extremely enlightening line that Mr Timothy Tan (my previous schools student council TIC) mentioned to us councillors during either a Council Interaction Time or a Retreat.

Let me quote him (as closely as I can)

"You must give 100% in everything you do. But what do you have to do to give your 100%?"

Ok, now according to him, the english alphabet can be broken up such that each letter is assigned a numerical value ie A-1 , B-2 , C-3 , D-4... etcetera.

And so, according to this code, ATTITUDE gives 100% when you add up all the letters. This meaning if you have a great as well as the right attitude, you are able to give your 100%.

Ok I agree but what if there was a more effective way? What if there was something else out there which could give you MORE than 100%?

Mr Tan showed us other methods of giving equal, if not more value, than attitude.

HARDWORK - 98% hmm, not quite there.

STUDY - 89% gahh.. even less than before.

Almost but not quite anyway.
But then again, nothing beats what I came up with...

KISSING ASS - 127% ^^

So therefore, in conclusion my dear readers, in future should you ever want to give your maximum effort to your boss/teacher/etc, please bear in mind that though hard work and study will get you very close to 100%, it is KISSING ASS which will , indeed, propel you the most in any of your future endeavours.
